Oxana Kravtsova

Country: Slovenia
Title:
The sunny side of the Alps

Oxana Kravtsova was born in Kazakhstan in 1984. In 1994, together with her parents and sister, she moved to Russia where she graduated from art school, but in the end, she chose a profession not related to creativity. Since 2014, she has been living in Slovenia, where she began her creative career under the nickname OXYPOINT.

The artist paints her inspiration from the landscapes of the country in which she now lives, in fabulous forests, high hills, the sea, meadows, rivers and lakes. And in people who really care about nature, love and protect it, try to make it even more beautiful. She uses 2 very different techniques – one transparent watercolor, the other impasto oil painting. Oxana paints her oil paintings completely with a palette knife without diluting the paint with a solvent. Thick strokes are obtained that look spectacular. She likes watercolor for its unpredictability, transparency and tenderness. She believes that watercolor is perhaps the most difficult technique in painting, and this is what attracts her to her – you can never know in advance exactly what the picture will turn out, watercolor itself decides how to lay down on paper, and she only directs it. Oxana Kravtsova paints in the technique of realism, expressionism and impressionism, constantly learning from contemporary artists and improving her style in her work.
