Michael Hunter, a Fine Art graduate of Reading University in 1973, has worked in many occupations in a variety of locations before changing to a long-overdue full-time career as a painter.

His paintings are sufficiently literal that they require no verbal explanation from the painter, who is accustomed to being a stranger everywhere, so sees everything with the eye of an outsider. That, after all, is the painter’s job.
