Katrina Squire is originally from the United States, but then settled in a number of other countries before discovering the Soča Valley in Slovenia in 2012, where she finally felt at home. Captivated by the natural beauty of the area, she delights in exploring the surrounding forests and assembles small sculptures of (typically) women and landscapes from the “souvenirs” she collects from the forest floor and riverbanks. Squire has also written a collection of fairy tales inspired by the waterfalls, rivers and villages she now calls home.
